Community Guidelines

Effective July 28, 2026

DSP Cafe exists so Direct Support Professionals have a place that's actually theirs. That only works if the cafe stays welcoming, honest, and safe. These guidelines apply to everything you post — community table posts, replies, video submissions, and your profile. They work alongside our Terms of Use, which you agree to when you create an account.

1. Be respectful

Disagreement is fine — this work is hard and people see it differently. Personal attacks are not. No harassment, bullying, name-calling, or content that demeans a person or group, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

2. Protect the people you support

This is the most important rule on this page. Never share information that could identify a person you support — names, photos, addresses, diagnoses tied to identifying details, or specific incidents described in a way someone could trace. Talk about situations, not identifiable people. When in doubt, leave the detail out.

This applies to photos you attach to a post or reply. We remove location data from every photo automatically, but that is the only thing we can remove for you — check what is in the frame, including whiteboards, paperwork, name tags and screens, before you post it.

3. Keep it honest

  • No spam, repeated posting, or off-topic self-promotion
  • No impersonating other members, agencies, or organizations
  • No deliberately false or misleading information about care practices, medications, or safety procedures

4. Keep it appropriate

No sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or content that promotes illegal activity. DSP Cafe is a professional community — post what you'd be comfortable with a colleague seeing.

5. Reporting and enforcement

Every post, reply, video, and profile has a report option. Reports are anonymous to other members and reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 24 hours. You can also block any member to stop seeing their content entirely.

Content that violates these guidelines will be removed. Depending on severity and history, violations may result in a warning, content removal, loss of verified status, or account termination. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.

6. Contact
